The windmills in Frasergunj serve as a power generating location. The rickshaw van is the only vehicle available in Bakkhali. Fishing is the primary occupation of the people. Agriculture is almost non-existent because of the extreme salinity of adjacent seas which inundated the land heavily affecting the fertility of the land. There is a fishing harbor at Frasergunj run by Benfish, a wing of the state government is also in Bakkhali. From Sea View, Residency Bakkhali is 20 minutes away through the river.

Gangasagar

Gangasagar is a very famous place to visit on Mousuni Island. Sagar Island is an island in the Ganges delta, lying on the Continental Shelf of the Bay of Bengal, which is about 100 km south of Kolkata. This island forms the Sagar CD Block in the Kakdwip subdivision of the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Gangasagar Island is also known as Sagardwip, is a place of Hindu Yatra. Every year on the day of Makar Sankranti (14 January), hundreds of Hindus gather to take a holy dip at the confluence of the river Ganges and Bay of Bengal and worship in the Kapil Muni Temple. Kolkata Port Trust has a pilot station and a lighthouse. This spot is only 40 minutes away from our Hotel through the river. Jambudwip

Jambudwip is also a popular option to visit from Mousuni Island. Jambudwip is the name of an isolated island situated in the Bay of Bengal about 8 km to the southwest of Frazerganj/Bakkhali in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India. It remains unpeopled except between the months of October and February because it is the timing of fishing. Once upon a time, fishermen came from the Chittagong and Noakhali areas of Bangladesh for fishing. The main reasons for using Jambudwip were the island’s proximity to the fishing grounds, the presence of a natural creek for the safe harboring of their boats, and the supply of drinking water. To go to Jambudwip, it will take only 15 minutes from Sea View Residency through the river.

Mangrove Forest

The view of Mangrove Forest is so eye-soothing. It is a famous place to visit from Mousuni Island. Mangrove forests thrive near the mouths of large rivers where river deltas provide lots of sediment. Mangrove roots collect sediments and slow the water’s flow, help to save the coastline, and prevent erosion. With time, the roots can collect enough debris and mud to extend the edge of the coastline further out. Shorebirds, crab-eating monkeys, and fishing cats all make the mangrove Extra-Ordinary. Mangroves provide a safe home for a variety of fish, birds, and other creatures. The Mangrove Forest is 10 minutes away from our hotel through the river.
